EXAMINATION AND CONSULTATION 
We at Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry believe every new patient relationship should begin with an in-depth examination and consultation.  Dr. Bayer recognizes we are all unique and will take the time to fully examine your personal dental needs and listen to your insight into your own dental desires.  Once your exam is complete,  Dr. Bayer will customize an achievable goal for your smile integrating the importance of function, esthetics, and oral health.  Our Treatment Coordinator will present you with a plan and answer any questions you have with regard to insurance benefits, scheduling, the financial aspect of your plan and any other questions relating to your treatment recommendations.   

CLEANING AND CHECK UPS 
The best way to maintain a healthy mouth and beautiful smile is to have excellent at home oral hygiene accompanied with routine professional cleanings and dental check ups.  Although Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry offers numerous services to restore health to your mouth with relative comfort, it is always preferable to preserve and protect your natural teeth.  Routine check ups allow Dr. Bayer the opportunity to find dental problems at initial stages when they typically can be reversed with simple habit modifications and oral hygiene instructions.        

WHITENING
One of the best ways to create a more youthful and healthy appearance is to whiten your smile.  Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry offers various options for whitening your smile.

Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry will also fabricate comfortable custom-fitted Whitening Trays and Professional Strength Whitening Gel allowing you to whiten your teeth at home.  The at-home tray option allows you to gain the same dramatic whitening changes as the in-office whitening gradually over a 7 – 10 day period in as little as 30 minutes a day.    This service is provided free of charge to all of our new patients.

LUMINEER® VENEERS
Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry proudly offers Lumineers®, the comfortable way to reshape and permanently whiten your smile.  Due to the advanced technology of the Lumineers® veneer being fabricated as thin as a contact lens, Dr. Bayer can provide you with a beautifully white, strong veneer with minimum to typically no preparing of your natural teeth.  This means you can have the beautifully white and ideally shaped smile you have desired with no numbing. 

INVISALIGN® ORTHODONTICS
Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry is proud to offer Invisalign® orthodontics as a virtually invisible alternative to traditional metal braces.  Invisalign® orthodontic treatment consists of a series of custom fitted, removable, clear trays that apply coordinated forces on your teeth to straighten them.  Dr. Bayer simply takes impressions and photos of your teeth which are used to create a series of custom trays using digital imaging and stereo-lithography technology.  You simply wear a set of aligning custom trays throughout the day, switching out for a new set every two weeks, as your teeth gradually become straighter.  In addition to being virtually invisible while worn, the Invisalign® trays can be removed for eating and brushing your teeth.  To read more about this cutting edge technology, visit Invisalign's website at www.invisalign.com.  

PORCELAIN CROWNS
Porcelain crowns or “caps” provide a great solution to repair and strengthen teeth that are severely damaged.  Teeth can become weakened from previous large cavities, necessary endodontics treatment, stress fractures around large fillings or from forceful chewing habits.  Porcelain crowns can be fabricated to appear as natural white teeth offering the strength to allow normal chewing and speaking while reducing or eliminating previous pain and sensitivity.  Dr. Bayer uses some of the best labratories in South Carolina to ensure the ideal functional and esthetic resuls for your crown and bridgework.  

PORCELAIN BRIDGES 
A porcelain bridge offers a great solution in order to repair a missing tooth.  A porcelain bridge simply “bridges” the gap created by a missing tooth with an artificial porcelain tooth connected to two porcelain crowns over the existing natural teeth adjacent to the gap.  The porcelain bridge is cemented to your existing teeth to provide a natural appearing, strong replacement for your missing tooth.  Dr. Bayer uses some of the best labratories in South Carolina to ensure the ideal functional and esthetic resuls for your crown and bridgework.  

CHILDREN’S DENTAL CARE
We at Cedar Bluff Family and Cosmetic Dentistry understand the important impact a healthy and beautiful smile has on a child’s development.  Our caring team of professioals understand the extra time and attention it takes to be certain that our youngest patients have a good experience at the dental office!  Dr. Bayer has years of experience worknig in practices specifically for children.  We strive not only to make your childs dental visits fun, but also to teach them about the importance of good oral hygiene so that they can maintain a healthy smile for a lifetime!

However, some long term denture and partial wearers or those people who have extreme difficulty wearing dentures or partials cannot feel comfortable in a conventional denture.  Dental implants have allowed Dr. Bayer the ability to create implant-supported dentures that have great support and comfort being held in place by the underlying implant support.       

ENDONTIC THERAPY
Root Canals are a common dental procedure that allows Dr. Bayer to get you out of pain or prevent the onset of pain in the near future while saving your natural tooth.  Root canals become necessary when the pulp, which contains the blood supply and nerves, becomes damaged.  Advanced technology in endodontics allows Dr. Bayer to complete the procedure in a single appointment while your tooth is comfortably numb.  Root canal procedures occasionally cause mild post-op discomfort but often cause no discomfort. 

DENTAL IMPLANTS
Dental implants are a wonderful advancement that allow Dr. Bayer the ability to replace a missing tooth or multiple missing teeth with a strong, natural looking, and sturdy replacement.  A dental implant is an artificial root that is permanently placed in your jaw.  Dr. Bayer then attaches an artificial tooth or bridge restoring your missing tooth or teeth back to their natural appearance and function.

Dental implants can also be used to attach dentures and partials providing extra strong support.  Long time denture wearers or patients who have difficulty wearing conventional dentures can often gain incredible support from implants.  

PERIODONTAL CARE
Gum disease is one of the most common diseases.  Gum disease occurs when bacteria and their toxic byproducts remain in your mouth breaking down your gums and their supporting bones.  Recent studies have also shown that these bacteria and their harmful byproducts are also strong contributors to heart disease, stroke, and preterm childbirth. 

However, this disease can be avoided with good home care, regular check-ups, and professional cleanings.  If periodontal disease has begun, it can often be controlled with deep cleaning procedures in which your teeth are numbed and then thoroughly cleaned, often in two appointments.

DIGITAL X-RAYS 
Radiographs (x-rays) are an important part of your dental visits as it is the most acurate way for us to detect and diagnose potential or existing problems.  At Cedar Bluff Dentistry, we utilize digital x-rays for minimal radiation exposure and greater patient comfort. 

NIGHT GUARD THERAPY
Does your jaw feel stiff, or do you often have difficulty opening wide? Are your teeth sensitive to cold drinks? Do your jaw muscles feel tired especially in the morning or when you're under stress?  You may be clenching or grinding your teeth! This condition is called bruxism.   Bruxism (or grinding teeth) causes the teeth to become worn down and potentially destroyed.  Treatment for bruxism is nightguard therapy.  In additon to relieving head, neck, jawjoint and shoulder discomfort, treating bruxism with nightguard therapy is an extremely cost effective as compared to ignoring the conditon and exposing teeth to continued grinding.   Without treatment, non-restorable fractures may occur; requiring teeth to be extracted and replaced through costly methods such as implants, bridges or partials.
